Scam Targets Citizens with False Jury Service Claims

Thursday, June 8, 2017

Recent scams in the area and federal courts across the country involve callers impersonating court officials, U.S. marshals, or other law enforcement officers.  They telephone random victims to try and convince them to pay a fine to avoid arrest for failing to appear for jury duty.  Please note that a court will always send a jury summons by U.S. mail and will never demand payment or sensitive information over the telephone.
